Biography

Tamara Nishnianidze is an 18-year-old pianist from Georgia.

From 2014 to 2021, she studied at the Sergei Taneyev Music School in Moscow under the guidance of Ivetta Yudovich. Since 2021, she has continued her musical education at the Manana Doijashvili Music Seminary in Tbilisi, studying in the class of Professor Manana Doijashvili.

In 2023, Tamara was admitted with a full scholarship to the Pre-College Piano Division at The Juilliard School in New York, where she studied under Professor Victoria Mushkatkol. During her studies at Juilliard (2023–2026), she performed in numerous solo, chamber, and ensemble concerts at the school's prestigious venues, including Paul Hall, Morse Hall, Williams Theater, and Alice Tully Hall.

Performance Highlights

While studying in New York, she participated in the educational outreach project “Back to Bach,” presenting concerts and presentations in schools throughout New York State alongside fellow musicians. As part of her volunteer work, she gave weekly concerts at Mother Cabrini Hospital for children with neurological disorders.

In 2025, she presented a solo recital at Steinway Hall in New York, featuring Maurice Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major. In 2026, she was invited to perform at the opening concert of the Holocaust exhibition at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York alongside Juilliard violinist Nathan Chen.

Alongside her musical studies, Tamara attended Léman Manhattan Preparatory School (2023–2026) on a 90% scholarship, completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In 2025, with the school's band, she won First Prize at the “Trills and Thrills” Music Festival-Competition in New Jersey.

Tamara has participated in international masterclasses with Professors Andrzej Jasiński, Lidia Grychtołówna, Jarosław Drzewiecki, Vera Nosina, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Dmitri Alexeev, and Andrea Bonatta, and took part in the Epan Piano Academy Festival in Eppan, Italy. Her achievements have been featured in the Moscow weekly newspaper Москва Центр.
